Fjern is a typeface that was originally planned as a devoted title logo for Weidersehen Feiern, a collection of work distributed at Comic Market 104 by the chief animation director and action director of Sousou no Frieren - Beyond Journey's End.
This typeface was created with reference to Norwegian and Danish manuscripts of the 15th and 16th centuries. It is a typeface similar to the German Bastarda typeface, with strong traces of textualis, an ancient typeface that developed uniquely in Scandinavia. The script typeface utilizes the contextual alternate feature, in which characters are automatically replaced depending on the context of the string of letters, to create a script typeface that is modern while still retaining a sense of tradition.

C104で頒布されたアニメ・葬送のフリーレン 総作画監督 & アクションディレクター 仕事集 vol.1『Weidersehen Feiern』にて先行でお披露目された書体、「Fjern」。 15、16世紀のノルウェー / デンマークの写本を参考にして作られたこの書体は、北欧で独自に発展した古書体であるテクスチャリスの痕跡を色濃く残した、ドイツのバスタルダ体にも似た文字を、独自の解釈を加えデジタル化した。文字列によって自動で文字が置き換わる「前後関係に依存する字形」を利用し、伝統を感じつつも現代的に仕上げたスクリプト書体になっている。
